Atwater FFA Members Have A Ball!
Over 150 Atwater High School FFA members participated in the 12thannual FFA “Bowling Tournament” Meeting earlier this month. The purpose of themeeting was to create an opportunity for FFA members to participate in a recreational activity and develop one’s social and team building skills.
The Atwater FFA holds monthly meetings, scheduled at a regular time and guided by a sound agenda, that provide an efficient transaction of business, promote chapter unity and encourage better attendance. Chapter meetings are excellent learning and teaching tools. “The important thing to realize is that the chapter meetings are planned and run by the students,” says FFA Advisor Shelby West, “Tonight’s meeting was an excellent way to bring everyone together as a chapter.”
FFA is a dynamic youth organization within agricultural education that changes lives and prepares students for premier leadership, personal growth and career success. FFA was created in 1928 as Future Farmers of America; the name was changed in 1988 to the National FFA Organization to represent the growing diversity of agriculture. Today, almost half a million-student members are engaged in a wide range of agricultural education activities, leading to over 300 career opportunities in the food, fiber and natural resources industry. Student success remains the primary mission of the FFA.
This was the 12th year in a row Bellevue Bowl has sponsored and supported this popular student event. “Bellevue Bowl is just one example of the continued support our AHS students and agriculture program receives from our community and local businesses,” said Atwater High School Principal Alan Peterson, “Our goal is to make a positive difference in young people’s lives, and this event is an example of being able to get together and enjoy each other’s company.”

"My husband and I went to get a Mega Lotto last night at Bellevue Bowl, so we were there and it was dinner time. We decided to get a burger. You will be seeing us back at your snack bar. It was great. Yes, we have eaten there before but is has been years. Besides dinner being so good, the lady that was working the snack bar was so nice and polite to us. She made our dinner a very pleasant one. Although we didn't win the lotto, we did win a good burger and met a very nice lady. Please thank her for making our burgers The Best in Atwater, and her Kindess....Sincerely, The Abneys----8/21/2012

"Our employees enjoyed our outing to Bellevue Bowl. Staff members were very helpful and accomodating to our party. I look forward to doing this again, maybe annually. Thank you for a great time!!!" --------9/9/2011
"This place is pure bowling bliss. The games are cheap, the bar serves heineken and even the food isn't horrible. They've modernized the scoring projectors since my childhood, so now you don't have to figure out how to keep score. In addition, the computers are easier to use than some other bowling alleys that I have been to. Combine that with the fact that there is not anything else to do in this town and you have a great bowling alley. I will note that the organization and selection of balls could use some improvement, but I am very satisfied with this bowling alley. There are very few independently owned, family operated bowling alleys left in the U.S. Lucky for Atwater, one happens to be in town. Also, the Spare Room bar is quite friendly and offers a wonderful happy hour special M-F from 3pm-7pm."------7/2009
"Cheap bowling within 10 minutes of Merced. They close at 1AM. They have a bar and bar food. Fun times"--------12/2008
"This is a great place to bowl. They have all the usual amenities of a modern bowling alley. There are different opportunities for bowling at a special price during the week. They also have the option for children's birthday parties. On Thursday there is a special on pitchers of beer, and other items from their small snack stand."--------12-2009
"I have been bowling at Bellevue Bowl since I was a little child, about 40 years. The family and the employees who run this place are the most kind, caring and helpful people I know. We have had numerous Birthday Parties here. It great for kids and adults. They have an awesome Lounge that was remodeled last year and they serve Great food. I have also gone down there on Friday and Saturday nights and I have felt VERY SAFE. They have security roaming the building and the parking lot. Plus with the Police Dept right across the street I don't think you could find a safer place to bring your family!!"----------8/2010
